Austin County Commissioners Court is accepting resumes/applications to consider an appointment to the Office of Constable, Precinct 4 due to the resignation of Constable Sammy Miller, effective August 31, 2009. Applicants must reside in Precinct 4 and hold a Texas Peace Officer Certification. This Office’s position will be placed on the November 2010 General Election ballot. Private/Home Schooled Students
Brazos ISD provides special education services to children who have or are suspected of having a disability. Special education services are available to children with disabilities ages 3 through 21. Children who have impaired vision or hearing can receive services from birth through age 21. Services are also provided to students with disabilities attending a private school located within the boundaries of Brazos ISD, regardless of the child’s place of residence.
If your child attends a public, private, or home school in our district and you believe your child has or may have a disability, please contact Jan Oatess, Special Education Director at 979-865-7020. We will work with you to evaluate your child, determine if your child has a disability that qualifies under the law, and provide educational services to your child if he/she does qualify for services. Services are offered to your child free of charge.

Preliminary Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) Report for Austin County, Texas and the Incorporated Areas.
The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) solicits technical information or comments on the Preliminary Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and on the Preliminary Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) for your community. It should be noted that no substantial increase in Base (1-percent-annual-chance) Flood Elevations (BFEs) occurred. The DFIRM and FIS report are the basis for the floodplain management measures that your community is required to either adopt or show evidence of having in effect in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The Preliminary DFIRM and FIS report have been mailed to the local Floodplain Administrators.

Notice is hereby given that the Commissioners Court of Austin County, Texas at its meeting at the above named time, date, and location, will conduct a Public Hearing to provide a standard for the development of the county road system and insure that county roads can safely accommodate all (1) fire and emergency vehicles, (2) road maintenance equipment and (3) all modern day auto and farm equipment traffic, and appropriate amendment to subdivision regulations. Following the Public Hearing, Commissioners Court will consider approval of (1) the order for rural mailbox location and (2) amendment to order establishing subdivision regulations. A copy of the proposed order can be reviewed in the County Judge’s Office.
