Riley Nichole Dostal

Mathew and Jessica Dostal of Jacksonville, NC are proud to announce the birth of their first daughter, Riley Nichole Dostal born Dec. 14, 2009 at 8:08 p.m. in the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, NC. She weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and measured 19.5 inches long. Riley’s grandparents are Chuck and Sharon Dostal of Orchard and David and Kyle Mansfield and Arthur Jones, all of Maryland. Her aunt and uncle are Francesca and Dale Dostal of Orchard. Great-grandparents are Betsy and Rich McInvale of Orchard, Bill and Pam Dostal of Richmond and Francesca Senkowsky of Florida.

Martin-Marek to exchange vows

Cody and Kala Martin of Katy along with James and Cindy Marek of Wallis are proud to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children Courtney and Myles. Courtney is the granddaughter of Louise Martin and the late Wayland Martin of Pasadena and Ideline Leger-Deshotels and the late Allen Leger of Jennings, La. Daft, Kuhn united in marriage

A beautiful outdoor evening ceremony took place on Sept. 6 at the Safari Texas Ranch in Richmond where Renee Clark Kuhn and Brian Allen Daft were united in marriage.
The beautiful bride was given in marriage by her parents, Lale and Janine Kuhn. Her father escorted her down the aisle, where he proudly gave her hand to Brian in marriage. The aisle was adorned with red, pink and white rose pedals and lanterns glowing with candles.
The groom is the son of Donald and Pamla Daft of Wallis and the grandson of Patricia Byas and Mary Daft also of Wallis.
Ric Walters from the Wallis United Methodist Church performed the ceremony.

Sage Isabella Aguilar

Thomas, Meagan, Stephanie, Jenna, Lexy, Andrea and Stephen Ryan would like to announce the arrival of their new cousin Sage Isabella. She was born Aug. 5 at Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land.
She weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. and was 20 inches long. Her proud mother is Racheal Aguilar of Wallis and her grandparents are Thomas and Lupe Aguilar of Orchard. She is also welcomed by her aunts and uncles.

Sluis, Zapp Exchange Vows

Michelle Lynn Zapp and Wesley Shay Sluis were united in marriage on Sunday, April 5 at five o’clock in the evening during a sunset service overlooking Clear Lake. Kevin Hans Sluis, the groom’s brother, officiated.

Symantha Lee King

Marisa and Racy Douglas King would like to announce the arrival of their new sister, Symantha Lee. She was born June 1 at Memorial Hermann Southwest in Houston. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 21 inches long. Proud parents are Doug and Lari King. Grandparents are Dennis and Carolyn King of Wallis and Johnny Rios and Kaye Russell of Rosenberg. Symantha is also welcomed by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Robyn Mackenzie

 Johnathan and Ashley Klotz would like to announce the birth of their daughter Robyn Mackenzie. She was born Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 6:53 a.m. at the Rice Medical Center in Eagle Lake.  Robyn tipped the scales at 8 lbs, 3 oz. and was 22 inches long.   Robyn is the granddaughter of John and Cynthia Klotz of Wallis and David and Carole Pavlicek of Eagle Lake.   Great grandmas are Vlasta Pavlicek of Molton, Ellen Battelle of LaGrange, Cecilia Klotz of Wallis and Georgia Rabius of East Bernard. Robyn was welcomed home by her aunts, uncles and her four cousins Sam, Bradley, Bryan and Landon.

Johnathan is stationed in Iraq and was unable to come home, but would like to thank his sister Katherine Capps for all the help she did in his absence.

Jennifer Jez weds Shane Kelly

Jennifer Jez and Shane Kelly were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony on Saturday, April 25 at two in the afternoon in Guardian Angel Church in Wallis.   Father Thuy Quang Nguyen officiated.  
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Jez of Wallis.  She is the granddaughter of the late Johnnie and Edna Sodolak and Willie Mae Jez and the late Alois Jez.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Kelly Jr. of Houston.  He is the grandson of the late James W. Kelly Sr. and Kathleen Sellars and the late Everardo and Lydia Gomez.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, Jennifer wore a strapless white taffeta pick-up ball gown featuring beaded metallic embroidered lace on a fitted bodice, flowing skirt, and chapel train.   To complement her gown, she wore a chapel length white veil with beaded edge. Ross, Miller to exchange vows

David and Donna Ross of Weimar announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Sarah Charlaine Ross to Jerry Michael Miller, son of Mike Miller of Greybull, Wy. and Susan Phillips of Wallis.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Johnnie and Lois David of Weimar.  She is a 2002 graduate of Weimar High School and a 2005 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a bachelor’s degree in Academic Studies and is currently employed as a teacher in Cy-Fair ISD.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Jerry and Delores Stavena of Wallis and Kenneth and the late Elsie Miller of Greybull, Wy.  He is a 2001 graduate of Greybull High School and is currently employed as a technician at an automotive repair shop in Houston.
The couple will exchange vows July 18 at Christian City Fellowship in Sealy.
Following a honeymoon to the Carribean, they will reside in Katy.

Butler, Horelica to wed in July

Mr. and Mrs. Terril L. Butler of Rosenberg are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Steffenie Diane to Blake Alan Horelica, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie A. Horelica of Tavener.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Lamar High School and is attending the University of Houston-Victoria majoring in early education. She is currently employed at Fort Bend ISD as a teacher’s assistant.
The groom-elect is a 2003 graduate of Brazos High School. He attended WCJC and received his certification in architectural design and is currently employed with Jones and Carter Inc. in Rosenberg. The couple will exchange vows on July 11 at 2 p.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis.
