Cheryl Acebo

Funeral Services for Cheryl Acebo, 65, of Sealy were held on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy with Rev. Mark Poe and Rev. Keith Carmichael co-officiating.  Interment followed in the Burger Family Cemetery near Sealy.  Pallbearers were Ryan Moseley, James Burger, Shane Every, Paul Faircloth, Roy Isaac, Mel Garret and T.J. Mills.  Honorary Pallbearers were Aiden Roberts, Gunnar Sanchez and Cade Schroeder.

Another year passes, another year comes

It seems unbelievable that the year 2008 is already gone. This year has been a roller coaster ride for our family as well as for the nation.
Our family had some serious health issues just as the nation has suffered with an unhealthy economy. Just as we hope the surgeons and caretakers we have entrusted have made the right decisions to guide us toward a healthy and prosperous New Year, we hope the caretakers of our national economy have made the right decisions to guide us towards a healthier and more prosperous economy. Just between you and me, I have more faith in the doctors.

August J. Macha

Funeral services for August J. Macha, 86, of Needville were held on Saturday, Dec. 20 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley with Rev. Henry C. Rachunek celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment was at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Allen Macha, Sonny Pfeffer, Coie Williams, Gary Macha, Randy Gauny and Cody Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Jeffrey and Michael Hajovsky.

Teresa Maria Holly

Funeral services for Teresa Maria Holly, 49, of East Bernard, were Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Knesek and Sons Funeral Chapel in Wallis with Norma Jane Harbeson officiating. Burial was in the Krasna Cemetery in Wallis. Pallbearers were Lewis Watkins, David Harbeson, Harry Dennis, James Hadaghe, Tim Glover and Edward Duty.

Johnnie Reznicek Sr.

Funeral services for Johnnie Reznicek, Sr., 59, of Wallis were held Wednesday, Dec. 17 from Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis with Rev. Russell Davis officiating. Interment was in the Hartsville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Jurecek, Jerome Kristek, Joe Supak, Bubba Brzozowski, Matthew Reznicek and Adam Kocian. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Riggs and Jason Reber.

Dwaine Curtis Woods

Funeral services for Dwaine Curtis Woods, 49, of East Bernard, will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24 from the Knesek and Sons Funeral Chapel, in Wallis. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time. Burial will follow in the Wallis City Cemetery in Wallis.
He was born to Georgie Woods and Myrna (Chambless) Woods on Dec. 8, 1949 in East Bernard. He was raised in the East Bernard, Wallis area, and was a system engineer with a computer company. Dwaine Curtis Woods died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2008 in Richmond.

Royce Marie Kaechele

Royce Marie Kaechele, 57, formerly of Wallis, lost her battle with cancer and passed away on Nov. 17, 2008.
Royce was born on Dec. 17, 1950 in Sealy, the daughter of Charles Roy and Frieda Kaechele.  She was raised in Wallis.  Royce graduated from Wallis High School in 1968.  She then obtained her degree in Education after attending Wharton County Junior College and Abilene Christian College.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lucy Delores (Pechanec) Hunter

Services for Lucy Delores Pechanec Hunter, 83, were held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Humble. Interment was at Brookside Cemetery in Houston.
Lucy was born Dec. 29, 1924 in Sealy (Frydek). Lucy graduated from Sealy High School in 1943. After graduation, she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Houston. She and her husband Walter had three children. She and her husband moved to Humble in 1969 and she lived there until her death. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas – Court 2374 – Court of the Cross, the Keenagers, several senior groups and various gardening groups. Raymond Parr Sr.

Funeral services for Raymond Parr Sr., 71, of Needville were held Wednesday, Dec. 10 from the Knesek and Sons Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Wayne Woods officiating. Burial followed in the Wallis City Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Henry Nawara, Kenny Brau, Donnie Parr, Gary Korenek, Jack Mangrum and Carl Cearly. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons, Buster Parr, nephews, cousins and best friend Jerry Garner.

James Franklin Kubricht

Services for James Franklin Kubricht, 65 of Hubert, N.C. were held with full military honors on Nov. 4 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery officiated by Rev. Harry Carraway. James served our country from 1961 to 1965 in the U.S. Marines.
James was born in Sealy, the son of Ben and Myrtle Kubricht. James was a 1961 graduate of Wallis High School. He worked for Carolina Telephone Company (now Sprint) for 32 years where he retired. Kubricht was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Myrtle Kubricht.
