Funeral Services for Margaret Toellner, 83, of East Bernard were held on July 7 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wallis. Interment followed in the Wallis City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom Kopecky, Don Toellner, Mike Toellner, Ron Rushing, Michael Verm, Richard Verm, Charles Verm and Steven Verm.

Myrtle Freda Watson Reeves

Funeral services for Myrtle Freda Reeves, 93, were July 9 in the Chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Mark McClanahan. Pallbearers were Clinton and Karl Stade, Mitchel Eden, Leo Kolafa Jr., Steve Demny and Chris Nord.
Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Myrtle Freda Watson Reeves was born Aug. 3, 1916 in Fairchild to Augusta and Maurice Watson. She attended the Damon Schools until she graduated. Myrtle married Roy Reeves on Sept. 23, 1933. (more…)

Funeral Services for Albert Orsak, 70, of Richmond were Saturday, June 26 at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, Sealy with Rev. Dale Leland officiating. Interment was in the Sealy Cemetery. Pallberers were Butch Rabius, Jeff Haugen, Dennis Pustejovsky, Dennis Vykukal, Joe Vykukal and Paul Zurovec.

Erwin Alfred Petrusek

Funeral Services for Erwin Alfred Petrusek, 86, of Sugar Land, Texas, 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 28, 2010 at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 768 Fourth St. in Sealy, TX. with Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating. Members of the Wallis American Legion served as pallbearers. The Wallis American Legion honored him with a full Military Service at the graveside. Interment in the Sealy Cemetery.
Edwin Alfred Petrusek was born in Frydek to parents, Frank and Johana Sabrsula Petrusek. He was raised in Wallis and graduated from Wallis High School in 1941. Erwin played on the Wallis Football High School Team on defense and offense. He married the former Miss Betty Ansel on Dec. 29, 1948 in Rosenberg. He served our country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. Erwin worked as an electrical contractor for many years. Erwin was a Presbyterian by faith and a member of the Wallis American Legion. Erwin Alfred Petrusek passed away in Sugar Land on Friday, June 25, 2010.
Survivors include his daughter Sharon Kay Anderson and husband Ray of Marietta, Georgia; son Erwin Ansel Petrusek and wife Carol of Sugar Land; sisters Irene Neshyba and husband Steve of Corvallis, Ore., Ruth Jurik and husband Johnnie of Beaumont; grandchildren Todd Bradley Anderson, Raymond Anthony Anderson and wife Melissa, Elizabeth Johanna Evans, Matthew Evans , Lara Caitlin Elio and Benjamin; great-grandchildren Caitlin, Erin and Jenalyn Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Johana Petrusek; wife Betty Petrusek; and brother Benjamin Petrusek.

Memorial services for William “Bill” Poliquin, 66, of Wallis were held Saturday, May 8 at Knesek & Sons Funeral Home in Wallis with the Rev. Tommy Jax, former pastor of Wallis United Methodist Church. Music was provided by pianist Jane Turner and singers Moses Rangel and Lexa Stavanoff.

Funeral Services for Allen "Bud" Walger, 75, of Wallis were held on Friday, May 8 from Guardian Angel Catholic Church with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment followed in the Hartsville Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Walger, Wayne Walger, Chris Bryant, Jimmy Michulka, Jimmy Polasek and Dennis Putjovsky.

Robert Wleczyk

Funeral services for Robert Wleczyk, 81, of Wallis was held Tuesday, April 6 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
Robert was born Nov. 28, 1928 in Rosenberg to Lawrence and Rosie (Zbranek) Wleczyk. He was a member of American Legion Post #271 in Rosenberg and the Farm Bureau. Robert loved the outdoors and gardening and was an avid reader. He passed away April 1, 2010 in Richmond.
