Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Interment in the Wallis City Cemetery. <br />
Dennis Korenek went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2010. Dennis was born on Sept. 8, 1929 in Nelsonville Texas to Ladgie and Lillie Korenek. He graduated from Wallis High School and began working for Koy Concrete and then moving on to be a machinist for WKM and Cameron Iron Works. </p>
<p>On Oct. 6, 1957 Dennis married Dorothy Pavliska. He became the father of three sons, Kenneth, Gary and Mike. He was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, KJT, SPJST, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Wallis. He also served his country in the Korean War and was an Honorary member of the Wallis Fire Department.</p>

Thanks to efforts of some area natives who are proud of their Czech heritage, an inquisitive reporter for a Czech newspaper and some Divine Intervention, new relationships have developed which have narrowed the distance from here to &lsquo;behind the pond.&rdquo;<br />
Joe Novosad, a Frydek native, began researching family roots many years ago and that research led to a visit to the home of his ancestors (not too distant) in the Czech Republic.</p>

Bilski totaled 2,662 votes (53.27 per cent) in the unofficial totals late Tuesday night to 2,335 for Price.<br />
&ldquo;I am very grateful for the continued trust the voters of Austin County have placed in me,&rdquo; said Bilski. &ldquo;I will to do everything I can to continue to earn that trust.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The U.S. Army announced on Friday afternoon it would stand by its earlier decision to move the contract for Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) to Oshkosh, a Wisconsin firm. BAE has manufactured the FMTV&rsquo;s in their Sealy plant for 17 years and over 3000 Austin County jobs are at stake with the ruling.</p>

James graduated from Cuero High School and obtained his Peace Officer Certificate from Victoria College. He attended Texas Bible Institute in Columbus in the late 90&rsquo;s and worked for the Colorado County Sheriff&rsquo;s Department from 2002 to 2004. </p>
